1 Samuel 4:1-5:12; Isaiah 47:1-15; 2 Corinthians 8:1-24
But when he (Peter) saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Matt. 14:30
When the Lord walked on the water, the wind was still boisterous and the sea rough. When he asked Peter to come to Him, He did not still the adverse conditions. The Lord wanted Peter to learn to trust Him amidst the storm. Peter failed, but in His infinite mercy, the Lord saved him. However the lesson was learned by Peter for future days. “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” (Mark 9:24). —Brian Russell
In the eye of the storm, You remain in control,
In the middle of the war, You guard my soul,
You alone are the anchor, when my sails are torn,
Your love surrounds me, in the eye of the storm. —Ryan Stevenson
