Exodus 15:1-27; Psalm 51:1-19; Acts 8:5-40

Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not … Luke 18:16

My husband was called to serve the Lord when he was 14 years old. 17 years later, we left for the mission field. God sometimes calls the very young to serve Him. Samuel was called as a child (1 Sam. 3:4) and grew up to minister in the tabernacle. Do you have a child that is showing interest in serving the Lord? Scripture reminds us to teach our children when we talk, sit, walk, and lie down (Deut. 6:7). Nurture your children’s interest in living for Christ and serving Him, when they are young. They may someday serve in sharing the Gospel to this needy world.—Virginia Strout

Exodus 14:5-31; Psalms 49:1-50:23; Acts 7:30-8:4

For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 NKJV

Prayer can be hard, especially during trials. This is not surprising considering God’s thoughts and ways are higher than our own (Isa. 55:8-9). Yet when words fail, God still understands. He knows our hearts and He knows the mind of the indwelling Spirit who assists us by conforming our prayers to God’s will. For His glory and our spiritual profit, let us persevere in prayer! —George T. Ferrier

God always answers prayer in His infinite wisdom,
unlimited power, and boundless love. —G. T. F.

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 14:5-31; Psalms 49:1-50:23; Acts 7:30-8:4

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. 1 John 1:9, NKJV

A reporter asked a young man convicted of murder, “How do you live with yourself?” He replied: “The Bible says if I confess my sins, I will be forgiven.” “Forgiven!” the reporter cried out. “Do you deserve forgiveness?” My heart went out to that young man. After all, who among us deserves forgiveness? The Bible tells us there is no one righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10). God’s forgiveness can’t be earned or bought. It must be received by confessing our need for Him. There is no crime or sin His saving grace won’t forgive. Come to Him today! —Deborah Manera

I asked the Lord “How much do you love me?” He said “this
much”—opened up His arms—and died. —Author Unknown

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Psalms 22:1
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Completely abandoned. Forsaken by men, forsaken by God, our Lord Jesus endured the punishment for our sins. In contrast God has promised the believer that we will never be deserted by Him. He is with us in life and in death. He is with us for eternity. If you have not yet done so, today choose Christ, choose eternity with God. —George Ferrier

He died on Calvary’s mountain, for me they pierced His side.
For me He opened that fountain, the crimson, cleansing tide.
For me He waiteth in glory, seated upon His throne.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Lord’s Day, February 22, 2026

Exodus 13:1-14:4; Psalms 47:1-48:14; Acts 7:1-29

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. Mark 1:9

Was John surprised as this event unfolded? All others who came to be baptized by him came confessing their sins. But here was one who made no confession. He, the impeccable Christ, had no sins to confess. What a contrast with everyone else! He came from Nazareth concerning which another had said, “Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46) How fitting that John would later describe Him as the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. May our worship please His Father. —Lloyd Cain

How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? Hebrews 2:3

In 2014, an airplane on route to Singapore crashed, killing everyone on board. The cause was found to be both a mechanical issue and how the pilots dealt with the problem. Four times the warning system had notified the pilots of a failure. Rather than dealing with the malfunction, though, the pilots attempted to fix the warning system. Perhaps someone has been lovingly cautioning you of impending danger. The solution is not to ignore the warnings! Respond, while there is still time. —Lynn Shatford

Sinner, heed the warning voice, Make the Lord your final choice,

Exodus 12:21-51; Psalm 45:1-46:11; Acts 6:1-15

How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred. Hosea 11:8 NKJV

Despite pervasive idolatry and immorality, God still wanted to reclaim Israel. The northern tribes were at an ethical low point which eventually led to the Assyrian invasion; yet, the Lord wanted to show His mercy by reconciling them to Himself. He would not destroy them like Admah and Zeboiim. Instead, He purposes to restore Ephraim and Judah to Himself at Christ’s second coming (Zech. 12-14). Every promise will be fulfilled. —Keith R. Keyser

Exodus 11:1-12:20; Psalm 44:1-26; Acts 5:12-42

Where art thou? Genesis 3:9
Where is he? Matthew 2:2

The first question in the Old Testament was meant to cause the erring sinner to acknowledge his guilt and admit his lostness. Adam evaded the truth and tried to blame his wife for his transgression. The first question in the New Testament was asked sincerely by those seeking the Saviour. They found Him! For us today, the answer for our sin is found in Christ alone. He came from heaven to bring us wandering sinners back to God. We need to be honest in
acknowledging our sin. We need to be wise in trusting Christ who forgives our sin. We need to be earnest and not delay. —Clark Logan

Here in His Word, He has shown us the way. —George F. Root

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 11:1-12:20; Psalm 44:1-26; Acts 5:12-42

I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.
Deuteronomy 30:19

Man faces many choices in his lifetime. God warned Israel that to continue in sin would result in death, while obedience to God would bring blessing and life! The same warning echoes over the span of time to us today. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). To heed this warning is life. To ignore it, is certain death. Choose life and live! —E. V.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth…but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. Matthew 6:19-20

He grew up attending Sunday School but never trusted Christ until just five months before he died. An old man by this time, his words were: “To think that I wasted all those years.” Why not give Christ your life while young and choose to live for Him? It will be worth it. —J. Fleming

Today in love His words I hear, “I died to set you free,
I gave My life, My all for you, will you give less for Me?”
Yes life is short; it goes so fast, and this one thing I’ll do,
“Dear Lord, You gave Your life for me, I’ll give my all for You.”
—J. Fleming
